The winner of the 16th annual Břetislav Štorm Award competition is Šimon Kříž with his proposal for the heritage restoration of the Petrkov Castle complex. Another award went to the project for the revitalization of the House of Culture in Banská Bystrica and a studio project for the partial restoration of the Jestřábí Boudy in the Krkonoše Mountains. An honorable mention was given to the proposal for the restoration of the area of the ČSA coal mine near Jezeří Castle. A new feature in the competition is the public award, which was won by the project for the construction of a house in Náchod called the Fifth Tower. The competition is organized by the Institute of Monument Care at the Faculty of Architecture, CTU, Tomáš Bistřický, and CNK ICOMOS.
The aim of the competition is to encourage students' interest in the field of heritage conservation and to enhance their preparedness for practice in cultural heritage care. The competition focuses on recognizing the highest quality conceptual studies and projects by students who carry out their semester, bachelor's, and diploma theses in the studios of the Institute of Monument Care at the Faculty of Architecture, CTU in Prague.
