More than 3,000 spectators, 30+ speakers, and an infinite amount of fun and information! That’s The Big Bang Stage in Ostrava, and we’ve been part of it for the fifth year in a row! This year, the stage welcomed top scientist Tomáš Jungwirth, architect Josef Pleskot, presenter Sara Polak, actor (and mathematician) Martin Myšička — and, above all, plenty of FNSPE CTU People! Medical physicist and leading scientist Petra Trnková revealed the secrets of radiotherapy, Professor Boris Tomášik, together with Míša Divišová and Alžběta Kozlová, let us listen to the physics of music, and Marek Matas brought quantum physics closer to the audience. The full programme wouldn’t fit here, but in any case, a huge thank you to all the spectators and performers! The Meltingpot Forum took place alongside the Colours of Ostrava festival from 15 to 18 July 2026 in the Dolní Vítkovice complex. The Big Bang Stage was organised and created by the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering of CTU in Prague (FNSPE CTU), the CERN & Society Foundation, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University, the Institute of Physics of the Czech Academy of Sciences, and the Science and Technology Centre – Dolní Vítkovice.
